Ouch I hear you say but at least for that price you get a fireplace and a library aboard. She is called the “Meteor” but compared to the rest of the list she is like a sundial to a Rolex.

25 of the most expensive boats ever built
If you want one of these boats you had best start saving now.
I have actually been on one of them. Well when I say been aboard my hand was aboard as it held the dinghy to the boat whilst we collected all their rubbish to take ashore. I had earlier suggested to my wife that we take our own dinghy across with a six pack of beer and see if they were up to a drink or two. We even had a bag of peanuts to share out but she refused. The full story is here.
How much does a superyacht cost to run?
As you can see buying expensive boats does not come cheap but what about running cost. How much does a superyacht cost to run a year? Well Towergate Insurance suggest it is 10% of the initial purchase cost. This makes my purchase of a new dinghy this year look like a bit of a bargain.
This infographic produced by Towergate may give you an idea of some of the costs.Still interested in buying and running one of the most expensive superyachts in the world. No, I didn’t think so.
Although it has never been proven it has been suggested that the most expensive boat, the “History Supreme yacht” does not actually exist and it was a publicity stunt. That amount of gold is liable to sink it but you never know. Certainly it was touted as the most expensive yacht in the world 2016.
So what do you think about expensive boats and their costs. Are they obscene or do you wish you had one? Which is your favourite?
Motor Boats v Yachts.
Two motor boat owners boarded a quick shuttle flight out of Dallas, headed for Houston. One sat in the window seat, the other sat in the middle seat.
Just before take-off, a sail boat owner got on and took the aisle seat next to the two motor boaters.
The yachtie kicked off his shoes, wiggled his toes and was settling in when the motor boater in the window seat said, “I think I’ll get up and get a coke.” “No problem,” said the yachtie, “I’ll get it for you.”
While he was gone, the motor boater picked up the yachtie’s shoe and spit in it. When he returned with the coke, the motor boater in the middle seat said, “That looks good, I think I’ll have one too.”
Again, the yacht owner obligingly went to fetch it and while he was gone, the motor boater picked up the other shoe, giggled, and spit in it. The yachtie returned and they all sat back, shared sailing stories, and enjoyed the rest of the short flight to Houston, while enjoying their drinks.
As the plane was landing, the yacht owner slipped his feet into his shoes and knew immediately what had happened.
“Really guys? How long must this go on?” he asked.
The yachtie continued, “The shenanigans and Tom Foolery between us just because of the boats we have? This trickery? This animosity? This spitting in shoes and peeing in cokes?”
